In this day and age, you have to be a content creator, to be able to market your business. No matter how great your product is, great content is the only reason why people will engage your social media page. Yeah, there are certain times where you have post purely to pass information, it could be information about a new product or about a change in your services and that’s fine, but your primary posts should be to engage your audience. I cannot overemphasize how important it is to engage your audience. The more engagements your posts get, the higher your posts rank on your audience news feed. Every time one of your followers comments on your page, there is a high chance that her friends will see it on their news feed.

Competitive is an assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of current and potential competitors. This assessment helps you check what your clients are doing right so you can replicate the same and possibly improve them, it also helps you check what they are doing wrong so you can steer clear of them. This analysis provides some sort of offensive and defence mechanisms to help improve your content. I would recommend you compare your analysis on a wide range of competitors to get a better scope of what is required.


Time it Right

Timing is very important when posting contents on social media in general, your audience cannot all be online at the same time, so you have to pick the right time to get the maximum reach. A Social media management company Vitrue conducted a study that showed that people are most likely to be online on weekdays at 11 am, 3 pm and 8 pm.  I find Mondays to be the worst day of the week to post, while Thursdays and Fridays to be the best. While these stats are important, it is not standard. When you should post is dependent on your audience and the kind of business you are in. it may take a few trials and errors but you’ll eventually figure out that sweet spot where everything is just right.

 Schedule your content

It is important to always plan your posts ahead of time. You should plan the number of contents you want to post over a period of time (let’s say a month), and the time you want to post the contents. Don’t wait till the last minute to write your content. I would advise that you have some timeless content saved up that you can use anytime you have a content drought to avoid inactivity. This is a much-understated Facebook content strategy, but don’t let that fool you. It is very important.


Post Great Video Contents

We all know YouTube is great for posting your video content, but do you know Facebook is slowly but surely gaining ground? Facebook is tapping into the video industry, so at the moment they are giving preference to video contents. Posting great video content on your page is more likely to rank higher on your audience’s newsfeed. According to a recent survey conducted by the visual content platform Slidely, a whopping 47% of consumers state that they now get most of their video content on Facebook, versus the 41% who say they get theirs watching YouTube. And 71% of those who watch marketing videos on Facebook state that the ads they view are relevant, Need I say more?
